I am an Ethiopian living in the US.
I have never been to any crusade physically nor seen Billy Graham in person. But heard of testimony from a person I highly respect. He got saved in Ethiopia during one of the crusades conducted long time back. He was desperate and almost at the end of his life with years of sinful life without Christ. Today he is a church elder and worships the Lord with his family. Personally, I have been reading from Billy Graham and family members from magazines and watching crusades through TBN and other Christian TV stations. Divorce as one of the evils of society is still high today. In a Newsweek magazine, I read Ruth’s response on divorce which is straight forward but dynamic. “Divorce no but murder yes” This is great frankness and humility that encourages those who struggle the pain and stigma. I am not divorced but the message helps to encourage others not to be taken as excuse but to understand existence of struggles in every marriage including great people of God. It also encourages enduring and looking upon God for solution. The book Naked but not ashamed by TD Jakes teaches similar principles of openness and transparency. I like the gratefulness and payback of the grandchildren to this great heritage.
May God bless all the generations of Billy Graham.
