Thank You God, For Billy Graham
America began its journey through the faith of a few God fearing men. God blessed their endeavors, allowing their dream of independence to begin. Freedom to worship the God of the Holy Bible and His Word, would be the foundation on which America would stand. A government ruled by the people, and for the people, gained support across the land. George Washington became the first President of America, and our nation was born. To this day, every American, with all respect for his leadership, refers to George Washington as, “The Father of Our Nation.” As history is written, George Washington will always, with great patriotism, be adorned.
America, with states united, grew in numbers and in power. Being the spiritual foundation of America, God, in all of His wisdom, called for a man to be a “Father of Faith” to America, to spiritually lead her.
This man would walk humbly, as he recognized his humanity and God’s Holiness. He would speak to all nations of God’s Love and Grace. Through this man’s submission to the Cross of Jesus Christ, millions of people would be blessed. He would lift up Jesus, God’s Son, and raise a standard, as his message would never compromise the need of man’s salvation.
This man would represent the character of The God he served. There would be seats in tents, stadiums, Cathedrals, Palaces, and Governments, for his presence reserved.
This man’s family would rise up to call him blessed, for he would be faithful to the wife of his youth. He would lovingly teach and care for his family by The Word of God and all of its truths.
This man would live long years, filled with many trials, as he walked with God. through every hardship, heartache, and illness, he would continue to reach out to others with the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, as he leaned on God’s Word to be his strengthening rod.
The name of the man who answered this call of God with, “Yes, Lord. Here am I, send me,” is Billy Graham. Through Billy Graham’s faithfulness and spirit of humbleness, The Holy Spirit has ministered to millions of hurting and lost people around the world. Billy Graham’s simple message has never changed or compromised as he pleads, “Won’t you come to The Cross of Jesus? Come now, just as you are. Come… Please, come.”
When Billy Graham comes to the end of his life on earth, he will joyfully anticipate seeing his Lord in heaven. At the same time he will weep for the souls of lost men. His ministry will live on through his sons and his daughters, for he will be the father of many who went to The Cross, and laid down their sin.
When God calls Billy Graham home to heaven, his wife Ruth will be waiting. She was his chosen helpmeet, to complement Billy, and nurture their family. Billy’s love for Ruth never feigned over the years from their first meeting and dating. Their marriage will live on as an example of two becoming one. They loved God first, and as they journeyed through life, their love for each other magnified Jesus.
America will never forget Billy Graham. He will forever be honored and reverenced as a “Father of Faith.” In countless ways, people will try to thank Billy Graham for all he has done. Billy will humbly reply, ” Won’t you come to The Cross of Jesus? Come now, just as you are. Come…Please, come.”
Thank you God, for Billy Graham. From my heart to yours, Mr. Graham, thank you for answering the call.
In His Love,
